Aria May Wright Legs aimlessly guiding her through the entrance to Wstrdige's Foster Park, Aria Wright found a smile lighting up her pale-skinned face. Her hands rested loosely in the pockets of her unzipped windbreaker, and light green eyes gazed peacefully around the park. It was past sunset now, and Aria guessed the time was probably around 9, 9:30 at night. Her phone was dead, so she couldn't tell for sure. That didn't matter, though. It was a quiet, relaxing day and the eighteen year old was on her way to her little apartment after a long, but fun, day working up at the mall.
Spending all day in a music store was quite preferable to Aria, to say the least - especially when she was in charge of what tunes got to be played while she was behind the counter.
The ark was empty, though, when Aria reached it. Given the time of the day, it wasn't that peculiar of an occurrence, but Aria found a level of peace in how quiet and serene the world seemed to be. Even if it was just for that secluded area, life seemed so peaceful then.
Taking one ear bud out of her ear and chewing lightly on the left corner of her lip, Aria made her way to the swing set on the far side of the park. Sitting down, her eyes rested on the soft dirt below her feet, a soft hum came from Aria as she hummed along to the song that her ipod was playing for her.

It was a nice day out, and nineteen year old Dominic Briscoe had determined to make the best of it - and that had meant leaving his third floor apartment. Figuring it was safe under the unmoving eye of his room mate, the dark-haired boy had spent pretty much all of the day outside. For a while he'd been down at Lake Bear with several of his friends, and it had been an absolutely amazing day. Then they'd gone mini golfing (all though none of them actually new how to). Overall, it had been a great day and Dominic had been incredibly happy with it by the time he began to head home. His feet were just itching to move from the moment he sunk down in to the cushioned couch in his living room, though. It was starting to get a little late out by that point in time, but he saw no harm in going for a walk. It was 9:30 at night, not 3 am, and even if it was 3 am there would still be no harm in taking a walk.
So take a walk he did - and he opted to take a path that lead him down Whitby Avenue.
Slight movement caught his dark brown eyes as he walked passed the local park, a place Dominic didn't often find himself exploring. It was a girl, alone and bright haired, resting idly on a swing. A small half-smile formed on his face, and he debated trying to join her. Would she think he was some creep or something? Willing to take his chances, Dominic placed his hand on the fence post next to the entrance and twirled himself around to walk in to the park. Placing his hands in the pockets of the jeans he walked slowly towards the girl with what he hoped was a friendly expression on his face.
"Hey," he said, stopping a couple meters away from the girl and taking one hand out of his pocket to wave at her.

Aria May Wright The sound of light footstops brushing the dirt not far off from where Aria was caught her attention. Without lifting her head, her eyes flickered towards the direction of the sound. Given the angle of her head, all that she could catch sight of was shoes and she let out a sigh to raise the angle of her head. The figure was male - probably about her age, with curly dark hair and a friendly smile being worn on his face. He seemed to be coming straight towards her - good or bad? Naturally, Aria found herself reserved about the situation. Being approached while alone by an unfamiliar male wasn't exactly a situation that she was okay with.
He said a simple 'hey', stopping a couple yards away from her. Aria raised her head straight, taking in the newcomer's face - crinkled brown eyes and an attractive smile. He seemed to have a friendly air to him, but Aria wasn't going to let her guard down because of a pretty smile.
"Hey," she returned, returning the expression on the boy's face with a friendly but wary smile.

Naturally attentive, and having a very good ability to sense how people felt, Dominic could tell that his presence had the unfamiliar woman on edge. He would handle that, it was only to be expected. So, in hopes of relaxing her potential fears, Dom did absolutely everything that he could in order to muster up enough of a friendly image to her - eyes open with a soft gaze, friendly smile, relaxed and almost submissive seeming posture.
"Can I swing with you?" He asked, taking one hand out of his jean pocket to point at the empty swing next to her. "I'm Dominic, by the way," he stated, waiting for her permission before he sat down.
((sorry, muse is dead.))

Aria May Wright "Aria," the young redhead returned, debating for a second whether or not to accept the young man's request. Though he seemed like he was a nice person, and Aria was naturally a very friendly person, there was such thing as being too friendly with another person, and it was highly possible to be friendly with the wrong people, as well. Deciding to be nice but reserved, she gave a slight nod to the curly haired man.
"Yeah, sure," she said, switching which ear her headphone was in so that the ear on the side of the other swing was available for hearing. Uncrossing her arms, she patted the seat next to her several times. "Nice to meet you."

Noticing the subtcle change in her demeanor, from outright suspicious to mildly friendly with him, Dominic let a grin form on his face as he cleared the last new meters between him and the swing set, and the girl on the other swing. Up close she was even prettier than she was from afar - her hair was thin, but bright red in colour and it was a look that suited her quite well. Her eyes, a green-grey hazel, were also quite lovely.
"Nice to meet you, Aria," he said, tasting her name on his tongue for a quick moment before extending his hand out for a handshake. It was a gesture most people didn't seem to do, from what Dominic had seen, but he always did. "Thanks for letting me join you."

Aria May Wright "Nice to meet you too," Aria said quietly, abruptly stopping her swing's gentle sway to extend her hand to Dominic's. The hand shake was a quick thing, and she pulled away from it almost as soon as she went in to it, not quite fond of the idea of maintaining contact with this Dominic kid. He seemed friendly enough, but for all she knew he was the exact opposite - and she'd agreed to let him be right beside her.
"You're from around here, right?" After taking a closer look at Dominic, Aria could swear that she'd seen this boy around somewhere. Maybe he worked at the mall too? Or lived in her building? Or she'd seen him around school before she graduated? One way or another, Aria was now sure that she'd at least seen this boy around somewhere in Westridge.

"Yeah, I live in the Redwood building," Dominic responded, willing to accept the woman's questioning if meant her relaxing up a little. He moved away from her, lowering his rear in to the plastic swing. Its chains dug in to his hips, which were too wide and un-childlike to happily suit the play equipment. He made no remark about that, though. One of the problems of adulthood was being unable to enjoy the things you did as a child the same way, he had noted a while back - before he'd even become an adult.
"What about you? Are you from around here?" He asked, looking sideways at the pretty young woman beside him. Did she feel like she was forced to accept his presence, he wondered. God, Dominic hoped not, that wasn't the air he was going for here.

Aria May Wright He lived in the Red Oak building. Aria recoiled slightly at the thought, though it definitely placed a reasoning behind why she recognized Dominic so much. They lived in the same apartment building after all, though she didn't know where exactly his room was. She'd probably only passed him in the laundry room, or when she was on her way out or coming home from being out. Either way, she seemed a little less wary knowing where he lived and stuff.
"Yeah, I'm from around here," she said, nodding. "I, uh, actually live in the Red Oak apartments as well - what a coincidence," she said, letting out a small but genuine laugh as she half-heartedly swayed her legs in an attempt to make the swing beneath her begin to move again.

Dominic could feel the air coming off of her gradually relax, and he found his own relaxation in having her calm down. He also found himself intrigued when she said that she lived in the same building as he. Why had he never seen her around before? Or, at least, if he had, no part of him could remember the occurence. One hand raised and ran through the back of his hair, and he flashed her a quick smile.
"May I walk you home after this is done, then? I mean, since we're going to the same place," he asked. It was a rather bold move, he thought afterwards, but at the same time he saw the chivalrous notion in his words. After all, why would he leave a lady to walk all the way home alone after dark, especially when he was heading to the exact same location?

The redhead hesitated for a moment before she responded to his offer to walk her home. In only made sense given they were going the same way... But what if he was lying to her? Things could easily go quite wrong in this situation. Aria trust her gut, though - and her gut said that Dominic wasn't really something to worry about. Besides, the more time that she actually spent near him, the more she seemed to be warming up to him already.
"Uh, sure," she agreed, lazily swinging her legs back and forth to bring more momentum to the swing. Her grey-green eyes glanced at the ground for a moment, the toe of her shoe tracing patterns in the sand. "So, what brings you out this fine evening?" She asked, finally attempting to bring actual conversation between them.

She seemed like a really nice person, Dominic decided. That was just the sort of vibe that she was giving him - positive for the most part, reserved for obvious reasons. He would do his best to work past that, because good people were very hard to come by these days. Being a determined person, Dominic was sure that he would get his way as well, one way or another. As casually as she was, he swung back and forth opposite of her - when Aria's swing went backwards, he went forward, and they crossed in the middle.
"I've actually been out all day," the young man sad, his brain heading back to the many adventures that day had brought him. The lake had been cool and welcoming, perfect for a get together of friends who wanted to have a good day. The little picnic they'd put together had been perfect, as well - there had been sandwiches with cream cheese and cucumber on them. Dominic hadn't even known that he liked cucumber and cream cheese sandwiches, but there was no trace of dissapointment in what he'd found. The mini golfing had been great, watching Ashley stumble and hit the ball way out of the little putting field thing (he didn't know the actual name) had been great.. Had been - until the golf ball wound up right in the center of another man's forehead.
"I was by the lake and golfing and stuff," he explained, running his shoes against the ground. Dom was a little too tall for swinging. He had to bend his legs just to be able to be off the ground. "I didn't feel like staying in just yet, so I came here. What about you, what brings you here?"

A breeze began to pick up, bringing a light chill to the warm August air. The branches on various oak, elm and maple trees, all fully leaved and enjoying the summertime weather, shook against the wind. The sound of leaves fluttering against each other caught Aria's attention, and she turned her head to admire the nature around her as a shiver from the unexpected coolness shot up her spine. Nature was quite a beautiful thing. She was guilty of abusing it once in a while, and she didn't actively try to be "earth friendly" most of the time, she didn't know what she'd do if the beautiful scenery around her was destroyed. Lining the edges of the park were an array of purple, white, red, yellow flowers - and more, almost any that you could think of. The grass was due for a cutting, as she could see the strands of it swaying in the wind as well.
"I was at work, I stopped here on the way home," Aria answered as she turned her head back towards Dominic. "Not as fun as going to the lake and golfing, but it's better than nothing I suppose."
Aching to get up and move a little, or at least go sit beneath one of the trees on the other side of the park, Aria dismounted her swing in a small hop. "Wanna go sit over there?" She asked, hopeful for a positive response as she pointed in the general direction of the field side of Foster Park.

Not wanting to dig too deep or seem creepy, Dominic held back on asking Aria where it was that she worked. Instead he hopped off his swing as well after she asked to move over to the field. His landing was a stumble, and he almost fell face-first in to the dirt. Hoping to maintain his dignity, and that she would let him after his trip, Dominic swiftly straightened his posture back up. Thumbs resting in the pockets of his jeans, he nodded to her.
"Yeah, sounds like a good idea," he agreed. It was - the cleared area of Foster Park looked quite calm today - clean and empty. Relaxing even, perhaps. Not waiting for her to say anything, he began to wander over towards a horde of low-branched maple trees, figuring that he may as well clamber in to its branches if given the opportunity, and hey - maybe Aria would join him. He wouldn't mind, and it would show that she actually was a fun person if she joined him in the branches. Some people said it was a childish thing, but whatever - Dominic didn't see how enjoying yourself was a childish thing.

Pleased with his positive response to her want to move, a small grin formed on Aria's face. She quickly followed just steps behind him after he began to walk away from the swingset. She wasn't sure exactly where his destination was, but she was okay with pretty much any area in the park. He seemed like he wanted somewhere specific, anyway, from the way he took the lead in the walk. Or maybe he was just a leaderly type of person... Aria was starting to feel like she would definitely get to know the answer to that, Dominic seemed like the type of person she would associate with.
Of course, that was going off next to no knowledge about him still. Things could easily change in a heartbeat.
"So, tell me about yourself," she said, interested in getting to know more about him. The inflection in her voice made it sound like a question, though she hadn't meant for it to come off that way.. Or did she? Did it really matter? Not really, Aria decided, and let that fact fade from her head as she continually scanned the scenery of the park around her.
