Appearance:
Standing at 5'11" tall with a very skinny build and long limbs, Eli is the definition of lanky. Eli has black hair that he lets grow out to a good length. It whispers wildly around his head, and he rarely takes the time to clean that up. His eyes are dark brown in colour, and lined by thick eyebrows. He has a half-smile of sorts.
Hidden beneath plain t-shirts and faded jeans are a variety of scars - from fading burn marks on his hips and wrists to a plethora of small, insignificant marks on his knees and elbows from roughhousing as a child. He also has a large, fairly obvious scar atop his right hip from when he had to get his appendix out at eighteen.

Personality:
Quiet and condescending, Elijah is a man who really only wants himself. He's very reserved and independant, happiest when in the confines of his apartment, or around at most two other people. He's oddly sure of himself, with an almost narcissistic personality to him. He seems himself as above most other people, and he sees no issue in how he is. He's a good and loyal friend to the people he cares about, though those people are few and far between. Eli's a vegetarian, a trait that he grew up with from childhood due to his adoptive family. He doesn't get in the face of meat eaters, though, and he sees no problem with people who do eat meat. That's just a lifestyle he wasn't raised in. He's a bit of a minor klepto, and has been that way most of his life. He doesn't mean to, but he often ends up stealing little things - or some times bigger things when he feels like it.
Eli's main interests are video games and everything to do with computers - which amounts to pretty much everything he does on a regular basis. He also enjoys watching movies of pretty much every sort, and swimming when there's a quiet place to go to do that.
One defining thing about Eli is that he suffers from bipolar disorder - though he's not entirely aware that's what it is. He has suspicions about what's wrong with is head, why his mood changes as violently as it does, and he's considered bipolar as his problem. He refuses to go and get any sort of diagnosis, however, believing that he'll be forced on to pills and that he'll become basically pitied by those around him because of his mental state.
Depressive Eli is the one that was more common throughout his teenager years. Fighting suicial thoughts and self harm, this part of Eli is a nervous, anxious wreck who can't for the life of him figure out what to do with himself. A lot of the time as a teenager he struggled ot keep control of this side of him, and that was what brought him to the things that happened. He becomes the type of person that rejects social interations, and when he does associate with people he often ends up using the relationship to hurt either himself or them. He doesn't mean to, but Eli has both masochistic and sadistic tendencies when his mood is down.

History Overview;
Eli's "family" is adopted - Eli himself was given up for adoption at birth. His biological mom had been fifteen years old and his biological father had been twenty six and in to drugs - overall, there was no way that being his parents' child was going to work out. It was Anna's parents that made the decision that the baby was going up for adoption - the fifteen year old was forced to hand off her son to a couple of people she barely even knew after giving birth to him in a New York hospital.
Luckily, the pair that took him in were great. They were a loving young family who already had two children, a girl aged five and a boy aged seven. His childhood went relatively painlessly, and he was naive for the longest time - and considred "square" by others' standards for quite a while. Elijah learned that he had been adopted when he was eleven years old, and he took it relatively well after going through a short bout of "why doesn't my real mom love me?"
As a child, Eli didn't find himself with many friends. He was always a secluded child, and not in the typical just quiet manner. He was a bit of a troubled child almost all of his life. The summer after he graduated from eighth grade, the family up and moved to Ohio. That left him alone when he started high school, and he struggled to get along in the new place. He fell in to the wrong crowd during freshman year.
High school became a horrible time for Eli. He wasn't sociable and he often acted out - he got in to smoking and he was involved in fights and he struggled a lot with grades and stuff. He spent most of his time outside of school at home in his room, and he became an avid video game addict. He also spent a lot of time on the computer during that time, and he spent a lot of time learning various coding programs and working with photoshop.
Because of how badly be did, he was unable to graduate on time. It was during his last year that he finally started to get his act together, though not too greatly. He passed his classes, actually tried - desperate just to get it over with. In an attempt to figure out something to do with his life he applied to a graphic design program at Westridge college.
Now he shares an apartment with one of his only friends, who he met during freshman year. He's going to start his first year at college in the fall, and he's doing whatever he can in order to not be like he used to be.
