Appearance:
Sorrel is fairly pretty, but nothing special. She's rather tall at 5'9", so she's not outrageously tall, but far from petite. With a medium frame, she's neither fat, or even chubby, but not a skinny little stick; she's curvy. She's a perfectly heathy 140 lbs, with toned legs, arms, abs and what have you from playing soccer all four years of high school, and normal club soccer in the years before that. She has a more fair complexion, though she's no porcelain doll. As most people, her skin becomes a bit more tan during the summer, and much more pale during the winter. Sorrel has straight brown hair that is short, falling barely past her shoulders, with bright, amber colored eyes. Her smile is slightly crooked, and she's not really one to smile brightly and cheerily like some, but it's a rather charming smile all the same. Sorrel tends to appear a bit disheveled, unkempt and disorderly. With her shaggy brown hair, shabby clothes, and lack of makeup, it's quite clear that she's not one who really goes out on a limb to dress to impress people. She wears what she's comfortable in, goes natural without makeup, and isn't one all to invested in fashion.

Personality:
Sorrel is a bit complex, as anyone who's met her before knows all to well. She a mess of different, varying characteristics, some of which contradict with others. For the most part, she could best be described as, while friendly, a feisty, spirited, strong-willed type of person. She can be rather headstrong, with little patience and a short temper, and is quick to snap at others without much regard for their feelings. She's also incredibly blunt and can be brutally honest, and is just a rather insensitive person who speaks on impulse without thinking. She's the owner of a barbed tongue and sarcasm as her second language, with a snarky attitude in some situations and cheeky in others. Sorrel can be rather vicious, with a tendency to lash out at people, especially when she's unable to withhold anger built up inside of her. Even if you've done nothing wrong your hello could be met with a stinging reply and a turned back. It's nothing personal, at least not most of the time. And if she's pushed to far to the point of rage or even wrath, her bite is even worse than her bark, which is already rather deadly. Even as a child she was aggressive, and this has only gotten progressively worse as she got older. Often times she'll go into fights foolishly, without thinking over what the consequences could be, and whether it would even be possible for her to win in the fight. She has a very bad habit of picking fights with other people if she feels provoked enough to do so.
Of course, should you be lucky enough to get a little deeper into Sorrel's personality, you'll find that she doesn't have as tough a character as it first appears. Sorrel's not one who particularly likes going to social events such as parties or festivals or those kinds of things; this is mainly due to her dislike of large crowds and her awkwardness in social events. Alone or with a smaller group of people she's comfortable around she can be found to be a much more friendly type of person, but when she's with people she's not so comfortable around, be it that she doesn't know them very well or doesn't like them, she's not as amiable. Once you get to know her you're likely to discover many characteristics that you can't see upon first encounter. That means that if you want to be friends with her you'll have to work on it and give her some time to gain her trust before she opens up to you. Once she finally does, you'll find a Sorrel that you probably didn't even know existed. She's still her usual snarky, aggressive, fiery self, but with a few more positive qualities. She's got a great sense of humor, one besides the witty, cheeky one that most already know about, and loves a good laugh. She can even be a bit silly at times, if she's caught in the right mood, and rather fun to be around. She's very intelligent and quick-witted, with a very bright, creative mind, and astonishingly analytical. A hard worked, she's very dedicated and passionate about what she loves, and can be very good at getting things done. Naturally, she was a very good student when it came to academics(not so much behavior, unfortunately.) She's very loyal and protective of her friends and loved ones, and holds them very dear to her heart, as they are quite important to her. She won't stand for her loved ones being hurt by others, and will go after anyone who dares mess with her friends. She's kind of the shoulder to cry on, when it comes down to it. Very helpful and, with most things, very understanding. She's not the best listener, but should you need help she'll be there for you.
Sorrel is a worrier. She tends to psych herself out about things, often times suffers from severe anxiety, and even has had several panic attacks, leading her to believe she has panic disorder, but she hasn't told anyone, nor informed a doctor about these suspicions. Sorrel also greatly fears failure and not being good enough; the idea of being worthless and nothingness frightens her, which is why she tries so hard to be successful in everything she does. Like most people she desperately yearns to be accepted and loved, and fears that people won't think that she's good enough. She is also quite worried about losing her virginity, and does her best to act like she's not an innocent and it's not that big of a deal or anything, while in reality she's a virgin. While it's not a big secret, as she's openly expressed her interest in both sexes, Sorrel is also bisexual, and has had a relationship with a girl and a boy in the past, though they were both rather short-lived and unserious.

History Overview;
Sorrel Lynnette Castelle, the second child born to a couple living in Anchorage, Alaska. It was clear from the start that her parents both loved her older sister Joelle more than Sorrel. She'd always been able to see it. It was the classic case of favoritism. To her parents, Sorrel wasn't anything like the daughter they wanted. Joelle was. Perfect, pristine, wonderful Joelle, right next to tattered, rough Sorrel. While Joelle was dancing ballet and playing the piano Sorrel was outside playing soccer with the boys on her street and getting into fights at school. She was never good enough in their eyes. This is probably where her desire to be appreciated started. Her parents would fawn over Joelle, dote on their wonderful first-born child, while Sorrel was just another addition to the family that brought home notes from the principal about her behavior in school along with her perfect grades. That was the one thing she did better than Joelle in(besides getting in trouble.) School. While Joelle got B's Sorrel got A's. Joelle got meets while Sorrel got exceeds. That's why she works so hard in school. It was the one thing she excelled at, and she was certainly not giving that up. She craved the feeling of excellence that she so rarely got in other things.
Of course, Sorrel wasn't the last of the Castelle children. When she was four her younger twin siblings Iris and Icarus were born. She liked them much more than she liked bossy, perfect, annoying Joelle, and had quite a good relationship with her younger siblings. There was one sole adult figure in Sorrel's life that she really felt appreciated her, and that was her aunt. Larissa Wiles, her mother's younger sister. Olivia wasn't a big fan of her younger sister, seeing her as aloof and irresponsible. She lost her job and needed a place to stay, so Olivia grudgingly agreed to allow her to stay with them. Sorrel adored her. She was cool and fun and she liked Sorrel, really approving of the things she did and the person she was. To Sorrel, Larissa was the one and only person who truly loved her and approved of her, making her very special to Sorrel.
As Sorrel got older, she grew to resent her older sister even more. Joelle was always trying to be the "good big sister" asking her things like, "How was your day, Sorrel?" and "Did you behave in school today?" she tried to act like some sort of motherly figure to Sorrel, and while Joelle probably though she was being good and responsible, Sorrel just saw it as irritatingly authoritative and threatening. During her years throughout middle school and high school she stayed out of the house as much as possible, playing soccer on the high school team and getting a job so she would have excuses after her parents stated that she couldn't just leave because she wanted to, as she had been doing for the past few years. So she got reasons to leave that her parents couldn't argue with. When she was at home, she'd often times either spend time with Iris and Icarus or hang out with Larissa. She avoided her parents and older sister at all costs. When she came out as bisexual in her sophomore year, her parents and Joelle weren't all that enthusiastic, and tried to convince her that she was just confused. But her younger siblings and aunt were very supportive of her. She had already dated a boy before named Carson, but it had ended poorly after he rudely tried to convince her to get in bed with him after she continued insisting no, and it ended with her slapping him across the face before storming out of his house angrily and refusing to ever contact him again. This time she got a girlfriend, a very outgoing girl named Annalise who Sorrel was quite fond of. They had a very good relationship that lasted a pleasant three months before she had to move to Rhode Island. They decided that long distance would be too hard, but agreed to stay in touch as friends.
Sorrel had her first panic attack when she was fourteen. It was a terrifying experience for her, but she kept her mouth shut about it. She knew that it was a panic attack, but hoped that it was just a one-time thing. Unfortunately it wasn't, and every so often another panic attack would occur, some at the most inconvenient of times. The only person who knows about her panic attacks is her aunt, who also is the one who convinced her that when she moved to Ohio she needed to go to the doctor to get some medication.
Sorrel left for college aiming to be a successful engineer. She managed to get a very good scholarship, and the amounts that the scholarship didn't cover either she paid herself or her aunt paid. She left Anchorage, Alaska for the much warmer, smaller town of Westridge, Ohio, to set off on the life she intended on living. She currently lives in an apartment, not the dorms, as she has a pet. She has a large dog named Maisie, who is a four year old Lab/Great Pyrenees mix.

Snow clung to her hair and clothes as Sorrel battled her way through the wind and sleet, the cold flakes battering at her face and making it difficult to see more than five feet in front of her. The howling wind wasn't helping either. She squinted her eyes, attempting to improve her vision of the surroundings ahead, but to no avail. Oh, why did her family have to live in cold, miserable Alaska? The moment the opportunity arrived, she would escape this hell and go to a warmer place where she wouldn't be freezing her ass off. In an attempt to warm herself, she rubbed her hands together, creating a bit of warmth from the friction, but it didn't do much to ward off the biting cold. Finally, she managed to make out the familiar outline of the tattered black door of her friend's apartment. Sighing in relief to be out of the cold, she quickly tried the door knob, and was elated to find that Sebastian had left the door unlocked, rushing inside to take refuge from the freezing weather. She was met immediately by a wave of blissful warmth and the sound of both Sebastian and Jean speaking at once. Jean, exclaiming, "Sorrel!" with obvious delight, while Sebastian, "How the fuck did you get in here?"
Sorrel chuckled quietly at both of their responses, shrugging off her snow-covered coat and tossing it on Sebastian's lopsided coat rack,
"Hi to you too, Sebas. And hey Jean, I didn't know you were here." Sorrel greeted them both, collapsing into Sebastian's armchair. Everything in Sebastian's apartment was worn and tattered. It was a grimy place, but it was his home, and they were all fond of it. "So if you're here, Jean, are Marcel and Leo coming?" she queried as the warmth finally reached the last cold cell in her body.
Sebastian shook his head, "Not that I know of. I mean, Marcel normally just shows up whether we invite him or not, so he might get here at some point, but Leo's got his younger sister's dance recital to go to."
"Oh yeah, Emmy's dance recital's today. I'll have to call her later and ask how it went. I hope she's not upset I wasn't able to come..." Despite the fact that Emmy was a good three years younger, the two were good friends, as Sorrel was friends with her older brother Leo. "Oh, and thanks for coming up for an excuse for me to get out of the house." Sorrel added after a moment. Work and soccer were cancelled due to the blizzard, so she ended up locked in her house. Sebastian had covered for her by saying that they had a science project to work on. Her mother had agreed, and even said that she could spend the night, a rare occurrence.
"No problem," Sebastian waved off her thanks, "Besides, I was getting bored all on my own, and I can't cook."
"Neither can I. Don't you remember the fiasco from trying to make cookies last summer?"
"That was when you almost burned down my kitchen, right?"
"Bingo." Sorrel ran a hand through her long brown hair, "I'm thinking of cutting my hair before I go to Ohio. What do you think?" Hair as long as hers, reaching down to her waist, was hard to manage. Expecting college to be busy, Sorrel had been thinking about cutting it to a more manageable length.
"Ooh, I dunno Sorrel, your hair is so pretty!" Jean mused, fingering her own curly blonde locks, "But I bet you'd look cute with short hair. I say go for it!" she nodded approvingly, obviously picturing what it would look like in her mind.
"Chop off all your long brown hair? I wonder how that would look." Sebastian wondered thoughtfully. He snatched up the scissors on the counter and advanced on Sorrel, opening and closing the scissors, a playful glint in his eye.
"Stay the hell away from me with those things, Sebas, or I'll use them to slice open your throat and feed your blood to the crows." Sorrel threatened, slipping behind the armchair and taking a defensive position.
Sebastian laughed, "Such a morbid threat for a little girl..." he snipped the scissors, making a move towards her head.
Sorrel reacted quickly, dodging the assault and grabbing his upper arm, twisting it and knocking him to the floor. "This little girl just beat your ass." she smirked at her friend, containing an amused laugh at his disgruntled facial expression. Jean, however, did not, doubling over in laughter that ended with her gasping for breath.
"Hey now, that's no way to treat the guy kind enough to let you hide from your family at his place, now, is it." Sebastian tutted, picking himself up off the ground and shooting Sorrel a look that clearly stated, I'll get you for that. She returned his glare with an innocent smile before hopping back down on the armchair, "Put in a movie, will ya? I don't want to just sit here bored all day and night." Outside, the wind howled even louder.
