Appearance:
Jessica stands at a pretty average height for a female. She is 5'6”, which is something she's fairly content with. It's not too short, not too tall. It's like the baby bear of heights. She has a curvy build, which she uses to her benefit whenever she sees the opportunity. She is naturally blonde, but sometimes colors her hair brown just for the hell of it and something different. Her hair is usually worn down or in a pony-tail or sloppy bun. She dresses pretty casually for the most part, preferring jeans or shorts depending on the weather. Sometimes that's paired with just a regular t-shirt, but sometimes she fancies it up just a little to give her that extra boost in self-esteem.

Personality:
Jessica (often called Jess or Jessi) can be a hard person to get along with. She can make friends fairly easily, but keeping them can be a big problem. Most of the time she feels very misunderstood, and that is mostly her fault. She has anxiety disorder and most of the people around her don't know about it. So one minute she could be completely fine, talking to someone in class with nothing much to think about aside from homework. But that can very quickly change. The next minute she's having trouble breathing and making an excuse to get out of the room to be by herself. The anxiety attacks are intense and to the point where sometimes she firmly believes that she's going to die, either because she has trouble breathing or because she's completely embarrassed. Most people only see her leave, usually yelling at someone to get out of her way or just getting up with no explanation at all. This makes her seem sort of stand-offish.
Aside from that, Jess is a very caring person, although she sometimes wishes she weren't. She has been known to go to extremes to be there for people she cares about. She also has a bit of a reputation as a jealous girlfriend when she thinks her partner is interested in someone else, despite the fact that she flirts all the time (sometimes without realizing it).
She doesn't get along too well with her family, although she feels responsible for them. Her younger sister is dependent on Jess and their parents, and Jessica feels like she has to take care of her, even if the dependence is not her fault.

History Overview;
Jessica is the product of a teen pregnancy. Her mother was sixteen when Jess was born. But that didn't seem to matter a whole lot. For the first two years of her life, she lived with her mother and grandmother, Ina Crane. But her grandmother died when she was two-years-old, so Jessica never really got to know her. Her father was on his way to becoming a lawyer, and didn't want a child in the way, but still continued to see her mother, though he was reluctant to put his name on the birth certificate. The two years at Ina's gave Diann time to finish school. She was attending night classes in college when she got pregnant by Jacob again. This time she put everything on hold to have her second child.
At first, Jessica loved the idea of having a sister. It meant she wouldn't have to play by herself as much anymore and she could have someone to blame bad things on. But Denise was one of those babies that constantly cried, and it woke two-year-old Jessica up in the middle of the night. It seemed like the new baby was taking over all of the attention. That was something that Jess might not have minded, but she was sleep deprived and a toddler, so everything was going to upset her.
The two children began to grow up and Jessica started to notice little things that she hadn't before. By the time she was seven, her parents had finally married and moved in together, but they were constantly yelling at each other. The one thing they agreed one was that they needed more money. Jacob was in the first years of being a lawyer at a new firm, so Diann took a job as a secretary to earn some extra cash, having never gone back to college. At first both kids went to work with their mother together, but Jessica soon insisted that she go with her father. She didn't want to be around Denise anymore. This was only during the summer, of course, because in the winter the kids had school.
Jessica wasn't a very popular girl at first. She was cautious around others and didn't feel like she fit in. But she started making friends. It was in middle school that she started lashing out at people when she felt like she was going to suffocate or felt panicky in any way.
Her freshman year of high school Jessica was diagnosed with Anxiety Disorder and put on medication. The medicine didn't fix the problem but it did make the attacks less frequent. It was freshman year that she also began to come into her sexuality. She discovered that she was attracted to men and women and that she had a sort of natural ability to flirt. She dated her first girlfriend freshman year and had her first boyfriend (not at the same time) sophomore year. She found that while she liked to flirt, she did not like when her partner flirted with other people.
Junior year she stopped taking her medication. She noticed that her sister, starting her freshman year, was becoming a little too dependent on their parents and on Jessica. She wanted everything done for her and seemed to not know how to do simple tasks herself. Jessica told herself that she stopped taking her medication because it made her head feel weird, but she knew the real reason was because she just didn't like them. She didn't like feeling broken and the medication made her feel like she needed to be fixed.
She made it to college and started out as undecided. She had some definite interests: English, Theatre, Philosophy... but she didn't know what she wanted to major in. She got a job as a waitress to help pay the bills of being a college student. Her second year of college she moved into an apartment. She began being a little too close to people than she should be physically. Not living at home was having its perks.
Jessica is in her third year of college and has finally decided to major in Theatre and minor in English Literature. She's fond of books and of acting, and she hopes that she can become good enough to finally get out of Ohio. She went back on her medication, but does not take them regularly even though she is supposed to.

note: this is from an HP site where I play a slightly different version of Jessica. I hope that's okay.
For once in her life, Jessica actually wasn't hungry. She was eating anyway, of course, because now she was nervous. She'd gone through almost an entire bag of gummies and there was another one lying at the foot of her bed. The owl had come quite suddenly. One minute Jess was doing homework and the next she was reading a letter from none other than her former boyfriend. Kieran was almost always on Jessica's mind. In fact the bag of gummy brains that was sitting at the foot of the bed had been intended to send him. As a joke. She imagined writing something on parchment to go along with it. Something along the lines of you should put this in your head instead of the one you've got floating around in there. Okay, that is not what she had told Charlie she was planning on writing. Charlie had imagined this as some sort of way to get the two of them back together. Truth be told, Jess did want to get back together, but the thought of them breaking up was still just very upsetting.
As she looked over the letter though, Jess couldn't even remember why they had broken up this time. It had to do with some rumor. She remembered that. Kids coming up to her and asking if she realized her boyfriend was sleeping with other people. Jess had never really believed it but the rumors still stung. She debated about meeting him for several minutes. So long that it almost felt like hours. She kept biting at her bottom lip, trying to think about the best way to deal with this. The letter hadn't said much, but she read the words over and over trying to figure out what to do. Well, it was clear that they needed to talk, so after a little hesitation, Jess checked herself in the mirror, grabbed her bag, through the bag of gummy brains into it, and headed out.
The walk didn't take as long as she'd hoped, or maybe things were just sped up because she wasn't sure if she was doing the right thing by meeting Kieran. But part of her really wanted to see him, despite what they were going through. When she got to the shack she started looking for the rooms, finally finding him in one on a couch. But Jess couldn't make herself actually come into the room. Instead she carefully leaned in the doorway, afraid that it was unstable enough that it might crumble and let her fall, not that falling would be anything new for her. She looked at him for a moment and got the gummies out of her bag, then tossed them so they'd land next to him on the couch, not bothering to explain them. “You wanted to talk to me.” It probably should have been a question, but it sounded like a statement. She just hoped he hadn't wanted to yell at her or something. She would have skipped that kind of conversation.
