Appearance:
Caelan is Korean. This much is obvious by his facial features and skin color. His eyes are, as most would put it, 'slanted', and they are dark brown in color. His skin is naturally tanned with more of an olive skin tone. Caelan stands at five feet and seven inches, and his body is built lean and lithe. His actual weight is of absolutely no concern to anyone but himself. The most interesting part of this boy's appearance would happen to be his hair. It is naturally dark brown, technically black until he steps into the sunlight; however, he took interest in hair dye a few years back. Since then, he's been changing his hair color up whenever he can, normally dying it with the change of seasons or when his roots start to show. Due to a weak immune system, he tends to wear a medical mask when he ventures outside to keep himself safe from illness.

Personality:
Caelan is a very shy boy. This is painfully obvious when you first meet him as he avoids eye contact and only gives out short responses. He isn't much of a people person, and large groups are very intimidating for him. How he has made it so far in school is beyond him. He has a tendency to keep to himself, rarely letting anyone past his walls. He would rather bury his nose in a book or into his Gameboy than to converse with a stranger. This isn't to say he always shuts people out. Oh, no. Some people can somehow befriend him. He will gladly open up to those he considers friends, but he'll clam up once more if someone new tries to walk in on the conversation.
Caelan is a sweet boy once you get to know him. He will do what he can to help out, and he rarely goes back on his word unless he realises that it might make him the center of attention. Upon getting him to open up to you, he will become blunt. Very, very blunt. Asking him for opinions will normally make him say the first thing that comes to his mind as his filter likes to turn off around those he likes. He is rarely late to anything, finding punctuality to be a top priority, especially when one wants to make a good impression on another. Well, good impression until his bluntness comes into play, but he's normally too nervous during important or even unimportant meetings.

History Overview;
Caelan was originally born in Korea. Where? He doesn't know. He never bothered to actually learn the name of his hometown. It wasn't even considered a town, having been born more in the country. His parents were a young couple who had eloped against their parents' wishes. The Lees were good friends of them since they were kids, and they helped the couple find a home despite their financial troubles. Life was relatively happy and simple until his parents started fighting. Eloping wasn't their best idea in the world, though it had seemed like it at the time. One thing lead to another, and Caelan started to become the target of their anger.
This went on for a few years, and no one found out because Caelan was still too young to go to school at the time. It was only during a visit to the Lee manor that his parents' ill intentions were found. They tried to cover it up the best they could, but the dog of their friends suddenly became very protective of the boy, growling and positioning himself between him and his parents. The dog wouldn't allow his parents to get close to the boy, though it did allow the Lees close. When they tried picking the boy up, Caelan winced. Worried, they took him into the kitchen to check his arms. What they found were bruises littering his arms. They lifted up his shirt, finding more bruises. His parents were forced out of the house, and Caelan was left with the Lees.
A few meetings in court later, his parents were convicted of child abuse. Custody of Caelan was given to Ora and Sage Lee, and his last name was even changed from Song to Lee. His new family decided it was time to move. They had been planning to for a while now as Sage needed to move for business. At age six, he was taken out of South Korea. They moved to Westridge, and Caelan was given homeschooling until he turned fourteen. In those seven years, he was tutored in the usual math, science, and history, and he was taught (more forced) how to play the piano and how to cook. His studies primarily focused on teaching him English, an essential for where he lived now. When he turned fourteen, he was finally ready to take on the world... Sort of.
His 'father' decided that he didn't want Caelan in a public school, so he enrolled him into Whiteridge. They had the money to do it, and a boarding school would be better than throwing him into a public highschool. Caelan struggled at first, trying to keep up with everything. By sophomore year, however, he was able to get the hang of things, studying ahead in the dorms so he wouldn't be too lost during the next lesson.

(It's basically the same character under a different name. Hehe. And, y'know, in Japan.)
"You're free to go home, Nakao-san."
He leaned forwards, sitting up in the plain white twin sized bed, blinking in confusion. He was dismissed? Dark eyes glanced over at the clock hanging on the wall, his confusion growing. It wasn't even time for classes to let out. There was around ten minutes before three, so why was he free to go? He turned towards the school nurse, giving her a questioning look. "Do you want to run into them again?" He opened his mouth to protest, only to reconsider, a hand reaching up to touch the large, bulky bandage held on by medical tape over his cheek. No, he didn't want to.
With a sigh, the boy threw his legs over the side of the bed, wincing as he stood. His arms instinctively wrapped around his abdomen, covering the painful, unsightly bruise that was forming there. "Thank you, sensei." He mumbled as soon as the pain subsided, reaching down to grab the bag beside the small bed. He slung the strap over his shoulder, adjusting it until it rested comfortably over his uniform jacket. Keeping his head down, he walked out of the nurse's office, nodding to the staff he passed on his way to the foot lockets. He worked fast, slipping off his shoes and replacing them into the locket, putting on the shoes that had been awaiting him inside.
He was out of school with five minutes to spare, heading straight for town. With his head down, he paid more attention to where he was stepping than where he was going. He worked on autopilot, not caring where his feet took him. In a small town, he didn't need to worry about running into anyone, especially since all the students were just getting out of school. By the time he looked up, he halted his steps. His gaze drifted to the building he was standing in front of, taking in the familiar features and the familiar sign that read Jinx Cafe.
It couldn't hurt to go in. Besides, he hadn't seen Junnosuke at school today. He could normally see him in the halls--he wasn't that hard to miss--and not spotting him was worrying. Walking forwards, the boy entered the cafe, turning his head to scan the place. There were a few customers scattered about. His eyes locked on the person at the counter. Well, at least he could scratch sick off of his list.
Now, Masato, stop standing awkwardly at the entrance.
